The work of Jozef Coudijzer shows a carefully build figurative design. At first the smaller landscapes he used to express himself. Searching to his own style he was attracted to add colored dots and fine, short stripes to his subjects. Jozef futuristic dreamworld gave his recent works of art a new and clarifying creative turn. His emotional involvement he beholds through drawing with fast contours.
Sober and simple lines carry his illusions of nudes. A fine and sensual feeling in which he doesn’t pursue exaggerated accuracy. What he does try is putting into words the sublimated affection for the shape usefully. His knowledge and love for fine color tones are especially shown with his drawings. In the latter he plays with rhythm and motion which keeps our interest. The fantasy and the power of Jozef Coudijzer is based on what he feels and translates into a pregnant band useful picture. It is obvious that his creativity is based on skill. His spontaneity is implicit recognizable. Honestly and openly he aims to show the essence. The precision of the punch, with which each dot is placed, reflects his uninterrupted effort to achieve perfection. With a vague symbolism and esthetical sense for recognizable figuration, he knows how to portray his commitment into his pictures. The intensity emphasizes the rhytm. The evolution will determine where Jozef Coudijzers’ artistic work will lead. With anticipation we look forward to this, while his talent is undisputed.
